Why you should appreciate more than just be grateful

It’s been a while since I’ve written in this space and I miss you a lot!

Hope all is well with you!

For this specific post, I would like to share with you what I’ve learned from Kim’s Mind Your Vibe podcast wherein she shared something about the difference between appreciation and gratitude.

She said that appreciating the things that you have is way different than being grateful for what you have. Appreciation is on another level cause it’s more positive and brings more positive flow and energy into your life.

We’re all too familiar with gratitude but appreciation brings in more benefits to a person than the former.

She shared 3 Levels of Appreciation which I began applying in my life lately that have me feeling really amazing in my day to day life.

Level 1 is when you start to appreciate all the things, people and experiences all around you.

Let me share with you a real time example for today.

I appreciate the scrumptious lunch that I had today.

I appreciate that my grab delivery driver was very efficient at updating me where my food already is.

I appreciate that I have a carpool later in the night that will keep me safe in going home.

I appreciate where I am today.

I appreciate that I have comfy office setup here in Sun Life.

I appreciate the connections that I made with my workmates today.

That is Level 1. Oftentimes, I find myself appreciating the little things around me when I walk to work, go home from work and even before I get up from bed.

Level 2 is appreciating the things, people and experiences that have yet to happen.

I appreciate the salary that I’m going to receive next month.

I appreciate that presents that my mom will give me when she arrives from the States next month.

I appreciate the presents I’ll receive on Christmas Day.

I appreciate the bonding and fun that our family and friends will have during the upcoming holidays.

Level 3 is appreciating the things that are not yet in the physical plane.

I appreciate the wonderful blessing of having my own family in the future.

I appreciate the man that God will give me as my husband.

I appreciate the blessing of having my own house.

Our minds think of thousands of thoughts every single day. We cannot always control it but we can strive to think of thoughts that can empower and uplift our spirits.

I’ve been practicing “Appreciation” for weeks now and it has helped me a lot to have a more positive outlook in life and at work.

Try looking for things you appreciate every single day and see your life change in beautiful ways.
