In for another treat: Fitcon MNL Day 2

Prior to the actual conference, we were already given the opportunity to pick the classes we would want to attend. And when I’ve read about Performance Coach Benjamin Siong’s The Complete Fat Loss Solution class, I immediately signed up for it knowing that it is one of the topics that I desperately need to be an expert about as I have more than 30 lbs. of fat to lose. So there, that’s how my day started. I woke up really early like 7 AM(that’s early for me now!) cause Ben’s class started at 8 so I know I have to be there before 8 to assure myself of slots for the class.

It was quite interesting to know new things about fatloss and reaffirm stuff that you already know and that you just have to apply to experience fatloss itself. Here are some takeaways that I’ve gotten from Ben from his FatLoss class.

  • Big Bang for your buck exercises are a must when you want to lose fats. These exercises are squats, deadlifts, dips and chin-ups. All compound exercises that require big movements of your major muscle groups are encouraged.

  • Take BCAA’s instead of protein shakes after your workout to put your body into starvation mode thus making it burn your body fat more.

  • Wait till you have recovered from your workout before your eat.

  • Using transdermals such as fat loss creams,licorice root and forskolin are going to be effective only if you pair them off with a good exercise regimen.

  • A healthy microbiome in the gut is essential for it regulates neurotransmitters production in the brain.

  • The body’s ability to be metabolically flexible in shifting using fat as fuel instead of carbs. Ketosis

  • Take quality magnesium brand for it is needed to absorb nutrients.

  • Liver health is essential for detoxification.

  • How you poo matters a lot! Take the stool transit test and makes sure that you eliminate regularly to speed up detoxification process in the body.

Next stop was Dan Duran’s Exercise Readiness and Recovery for Faster results. Dan Duran is a man of pure energy and his upbeat persona just filled up the room. He discussed about how stress could impact one’s health and he even introduced a method to us that was used by his elite trainer, Rodney Corn when he was first training to measure at which level of exercise our body is ready, if we could go all in, go moderate or just rest for the moment cause there’s too much stress in the body.

At the beginning of his workshop, he made an illustration of a man named Dave who had seem to have all the bad luck when it comes to health,he was stressed at a maximum level and was overtraining his body too. But when he learned all the techniques, his lif e changed. Towards the end of his presentation, he bravely admitted that he was once Dave. He was that man who wasn’t doing good with his health and in his life up until he met Mr. Rodney Corn ( who is a speaker at FITCONMNL as well) that he learned what he needed to learn. Now he runs Tri triathlons, Duo triathlons and all these crazy endurance races and lives a healthy lifestyle with his family.

Now this next class is one of my top favourites!!! Garnet Suidy gave us an amazing dance experience through Groove, one of Body Art’s class variations! The class was packed and it was super fun dancing and grooving to the music for about an hour! Truly it was a beautiful experience Garnet. Thank you for helping me change my perspective about exercise. Now I opt for more yin and less yang movements to help me get through my weight loss program. I just have to focus on what I eat instead.

Remember Ben Siong? The one who talked about the truths about fat loss early in the day? Well,I’ve signed up again for his other class: Supplementation for Fat Loss: Is it necessary? And learned some cool stuff that I want to share with you guys! He opened our eyes about the truth about the toxic avalanche of the food that we eat nowadays and strongly encourages us to buy organic whole foods. Here are his top 5 supplements that he strongly recommends to for every individual to take, basically an essentials supplementation list for newbies to health out there! Here you go!

  1. Omega 3 Fatty acids – Anti Inflammatory

  2. Vitamin D3 – Optimal Function to lean down a lot faster and for optimal body composition

  3. Magnesium – for stress especially for women, helps to flush out excess water

  4. Zinc – helps for nutrient absorption

  5. Acetyl L Carnitine – helps for fatloss, utilise fat more effectively,helps increase mental focus,brain booster, a good preworkout

Another one of my favourites would be NTC trainer’s Audrey Fourcade’s In House Session Technique wherein my inner dance diva got a chance to shine! I swear! I thought I would never be able to do dance so fiercely again since my highschool years but Audrey taught us so well and guided us so we could dance and dance some more! Truly one of my favourites in the whole FITCON Manila 2018 event!

Lastly was another Body Art Movement class by Garnet Suidy, Flow. It was like a chill Hatha yoga class blended with stretches and lots of whole body movement! J I liked it very chill just like what I’ve said in my previous statement.

Oh my gosh! We’re nearing a the end of it! We’re almost in Day 3 guys and I want to thank you for going up this far and reading up my blog! I hope you apply all these techniques in your daily lives to achieve optimum results in your health!
