I arrived late for Mr. Glenn Ang’s Power Plate: Move Better, Lift Better class, which I believe was truly sad cause I missed out on such a great session. But…there’s a big BUT right here. The following classes/workshops that I took were just so mind blowing and life changing, if you may allow me to describe them that way, cause they truly are amazing. And when I say amazing, I couldn’t really have the words to describe how I truly learned a great deal from the international and local speakers – just from Day 1. Yes, I am writing this article fresh straight from Manila Fitness Conference Day 1 and I’m just so stoked to share every single thing I’ve learned from them to you guys!

First off, let’s go with the one and only, the beautiful and the sexy, the Diet Coach to the Stars, Ms. Nadine Tengco!

Her course is Slim and Glow in 10 Days and just from the title, I already loved the concept to it! It’s basically a Program that will allow you to look more beautiful, sexy and ready for your Big Day ( whether that be a wedding, a photoshoot or a fitness competition ) in just 10 Days. It was originally the Anne Kapal Program which she did for Anne Curtis (now Anne Curtis Smith Heussaff) for her concert last 2014. It was a program that made Anne lose 10 lbs. in 10 days without compromising her energy levels, her beauty and her strength cause she did a lot of stunt work during her concert – tumbling and folding over and down several times. Plus her latex and tight fitting costumes really required her to shed off any excess weight that she was carrying during that time.

Ms. Nadine Tengco, as charming as she really is, presented to us a concept of her as a bride who’s getting ready for her big day, in 10 days. She had this super fun activity wherein she asked us to answer whether it’s an AB ( if it makes you fitter ) or a FLAB ( if it makes you fat )with the following food groups and kinds of exercise that she showed on her presentation slides. Let’s say you have 10 days to get ready for a BIG DAY whether that be your wedding, a photoshoot or anything that requires you to look at your bestand fittest, here are some tips that I’ve learned from THE Diet Coach to the Stars!

  • Avoid all kinds of bread, even whole grain, rice even brown or black rice, for they cause bloating.

  • Sweet potato is healthy but you have to avoid it cause it causes bloating too.

  • MUFA rich foods such as avocadoes, olive oil and dark chocolate are highly recommended.

  • Exercises allowed for 10 days are only limited to low impact exercises such as walking and swimming.

  • Hydration is very important.

  • Papayas are the only fruit allowed in this program.

  • Pineapples should be juiced with herbs and greens such as basil and parsley. Green juices are preferable than eating whole vegetables.

  • Eat a lot of sayote( you can eat them raw and spiralise them thens season with olive oil and Himalayan pink salt.)

  • Herb therapy juices are best

She also shared three simple shifts that you can do to lose 5 lbs. in 2 weeks:1. Boil lemongrass in water and drink like water. 2. Put turmeric when you make rice or quinoa. 3. Boil ginger and make salabat water.

I’ve learned so much from her and she’s truly inspiring for being a walking encyclopedia of health, food and fitness. She breathes and lives what she preaches and talks about and that’s what makes her THE Nadine Tengco.

After immersing myself in Nadine Tengco’s Slim and Glow in 10 Days program, I bravely headed for an intense and fun Piloxing workout headed by the energetic and the vibrant Ms.Connie Colson!

It’s a hybrid exercise of Boxing and Pilates and will get your hammies hurt like hell really! The holds and the different positions make me wanna cry and quit but I was like hell no, I ain’t a quitter and I can do it. And so I did! <3 I finished the workout gracefully, with a beautiful triumphant smile on my face. Was it tiring? YES! But was it worth it? HELL YEAH! It was!

Then it was almost time for lunch but before that Ms. Gelli Victor, our beautiful and graceful host introduced all 16 international speakers and we had a treat to listen to Ms. Vivian Zapanta’s Keynote Speech. On it,she discussed about how important it is to take care of ourselves to be able to take care of others. It’s an evolution to a higher well being, just like what she said.

One of my favorite parts everyday is the FREE LUNCH!!! <3 I looked forward to eating salads and different small amounts of desserts for 3 straight days from the Fitness Conference Manila 2018.

After lunch, I had the opportunity to attend 3 more classes which I’m going to share with you as well. First off was with Maximus Athlete’s Café’s Coach Andy Leuterio on professionalizing your passion. And just like what he said, heart isn’t enough.

Here he talked about how he managed to build a full bike shop and a café all in one with just him and his wife initially in the business. He talked about the essentials such as having to have researched on things such as who is your target market, your location dynamics and what will truly set you apart from other brands. He also emphasized on the importance of being able to be innovative in the business cause you have to keep on growing if you want your business to stay on top of your game.

He aslo talked about the importance of knowing your customers and customer profiling – knowing what kind of ideal customers you wish to have and targeting to have more of them. He also said, customer is not always right, CASH FLOW is. Which is essentially true. You need a regular and a balanced cash flow to keep your business running. Funny as it may sound but it is the truth.

It was a very informative session and has helped me a lot on realizing the things I would have to consider in case in the future I’m building my on Raw Beauty Bakery & Café!

Hey, that’s one thing to look forward too in the next few years! Gotta have some moolah saved up, eh?

Another thing, Raw Beauties! It has always been my dream to be able to teach what I practice in life. Back in 2016 when I was super fit, I have always wanted to take fitness teacher/ coach training cause I have reached my optimal body state in terms of my physique. That’s why this next session helped so much and I found myself saying a lot of aaahhs and nodding in agreement with what Coach Mark Laws was saying.

Here are a few things that have stuck in my head from his 22 things that will help you survive the fitness industry.

  • Always be an eternal white belt. Don’t go inside the gym thinking that you already know everything. Always have a mindset of a beginner and you will learn a lot and go far in the industry.

  • Be willing to prove yourself wrong. You learn nothing from life if you think you’re always right.

  • Be the second most important person in the relationship. Your client is the most important person in the relationship so yes, client is KING.

  • You are your own walking billboard. Practice what you preach so you can have a bigger base of trustworthy clients.

  • You are the average of the 5 people you spent your time with so choose wisely and choose to be with the successful people who are way better than you and learn from them.

These are just a few of them and

I hope that these will strike something from within you and you start applying what you have learned so far in my blog to your daily fitness life.

Next is one of my favourite talks and favourite person from FITCON Manila 2018. He is such a beautiful soul with such a good and sweet heart. He is Garnet Suidy, a once competitive world figure skater who has found a conscious shift in his career into Body Art and teaching health and wellness through his spiritual and physical practice. His talk entitled from Athlete to Ally: A journey from Competitive Sport to Holistic Health talked about how he changed his life and his consciousness, and plus he just recently moved to Costa Rica for his job and career was failing, his relationship and his car too so he just let go and released everything to the Universe and let go. His story was a beautiful example of how it is to let go of things that do not serve your growth anymore to make room for things that do. And that’s what he just did!

He also made this very important point on accepting the present moment, accepting what goes into your life and going with the abundant flow of the Universe as a whole, for the moment you resist from the natural flow, is the moment wherein stress will take over your life. It was such a beautiful experience to be with Garnet in one room and just listen to his life experiences which inspire me to be a Body Art Instructor in this lifetime. I’m 101% sure I’m going to be! I’ll be writing extensively about Body Art in my next few blogs on Day 2 and 3 wherein I attended a variety of Garnet’s classes from Groove, Flow and Extreme!

Plus, I've met a fellow Fitness Vlogger, Little Fit Bella! :) Check her out guys!

I’m extremely happy and grateful to Rica Rodriguez and Divine Masinsin for giving me this opportunity to participate in the second Fitness Conference here in Manila. It was such a great experience, just from Day 1 and I can’t wait to share Day 2 and Day 3 with you, Raw Beauties! :*

Stay posted for Day 2 and Day 3 blogposts! :*

Lots of love!

Princess
