This is not only my Story. Yes, this is not just about me. This is everyone who's experiencing the ups & downs of life...the longing for #surrender. It has been such a challenge figuring out what society would call a niche..especially in the creative world... And in this beautiful & yes sometimes painful process...I choose to #Surrender...as I find myself lying down, almost always, UnderATree. 🌴🌲🌳 @kishstories @bjpascual #StoriesUnderATree

It all started with such spontaneity of browsing through my Instagram Feed and I've stumbled upon a specific post by none other than BJ Pascual himself, who's truly on the list of the top and the most coveted Fashion Photographers not only in our country, but also internationally as well - I grabbed the opportunity right there and then and luckily it was the last day to submit an entry. And yes, it's that exact photo and caption that You see above.

It was actually a Creative Inspiration Project started by Mr. Ito Kish, an internationally acclaimed designer who houses his decadent taste, passion, collection and decades of expertise in the field at such a pristine yet humble Showroom at Makati.
"I’ve since expanded my activities—from collating distinct pieces from all the world over to designing furniture and homeware collections that revive and preserve traditional Filipino crafts and motifs."

Stories under the Tree

It was a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet, greet (oh gosh sounded like a true blue fan right there!hahah! ) and yes, listen to BJ Pascual himself. :) Not everyday will we be given the chance to hear inspiring success stories, and as such how indeed at a Young Age, he has found and earned his place in the industry.
Thus, Stories Under the Tree came into fruitition.
And with this Gift, it is indeed my honour to share with You the very words..lessons..coupled with heartfelt, funny & Magpatunay moments that defined, molded and made BJ Pascual, the Successful, Creative, yet Down to Earth, Beautiful person that He is today.
MAGPATUNAY!
When he said this, my mind got me like, Oh gosh, Truly, as conyo as this may sound, Yes, we have to Magpatunay! Not to anyone else, not to the world, but to ourselves. We owe it to ourselves to be better every single day, to reach the goals that we have set, just like what BJ said, we have to have this small goals and make sure to finish them as even as little as they seem, those small successes, when they add up, gives us a sense of fulfillment, purpose, meaning that helps us to move forward in our Journey .
Vision is what separates You from the Rest.
Everyone can be a photographer truly and yes, there's a lot of people out there pursuing all this Creative career but indeed, how does one stand out from the rest?
BJ Pascual gave the best answer yet, I believe, and this does not only apply to Photography, cause indeed, it is our Vision, Our Personal Values, Goals, Divine Purpose - when all combined together, is what truly makes our work, Our Work. Our Vision serves as our Guide, not only in easy breezy days, but mostly in situations that truly challenge our Core. Our Vision, has such a great potential to define Who we are and Who we Are becoming.
And that immense focus, power and intention of translating such Vision into our Work is what makes us stand out.
Unique. Original. Authentic.
I'm so grateful for this, and yes, I'm sending much Love and Light to BJ right now as during that time, I must admit, I was going off track, and hearing this once again served as a reminder to all of us..of how important having a Vision is, and how reading, breathing, embodying and working on it every single day could help direct us to our True Path in LIfe.
The world owes You nothing, that You deserve this, You deserve that.
For truly, even BJ Pascual worked as a Stylist, sold cool tee shirts with his friends, even went to Divisoria to scout for materials for their business..before becoming a Pro in his field. So girl, and guys, just in case You're reading this right now, whatever Your Dream or Goal is, YOU GOTTA WERQ FOR IT baby. You GOTTA WERQ for it! :) No shortcuts, all Pure, Smart & Intentional Hard Butt Kicking WORK! Now, go KILL Your Grind Baby!
When You want something, go for it!
I strongly believe this whole statement speaks for itself.
ok now, i'm doing my best not to over explain..but truly just GO GET IT!!!!
Flexibility & Adaptablity
He worked many jobs before finding his True Calling. Imagine how good he was being able to adjust to his environment, and just flow while still maintaining his core. Now that is something that we must truly apply in our lives so that we may always gracefully thrive in all situations that life gives us..that we may come out better, stronger, and yes Healthier even..in times of great adversity. Adapt, Grow, Refine, Adjust, Learn , Apply, Grow, and grow some more up until...your last breath I guess. :) Which brings us to one of the best things I've heard from BJ Pascual when he's asked something about his work..He answered...
I'm never satisfied with it.
Hearing this shows how much dedication & passion he has on his craft..and I'm like, Yes, I want to model such Attitude as well in everything that I do in life, whether that be in Health, Fitness, Nutrition, Spirituality, Career up to the smallest things. He once again sparked that inspiration to continuously find ways to improve my Craft, in essence to improve myself as a whole, that I may truly fulfill my Divine Purpose in this world. And yes, we can all do that. And we can start now.
Family may not always support You, but love and appreciate them for they ground You.
Coming from a family of Diplomats, BJ Pascual initially took up International Studies at DLSU, but his creative soul indeed proved to be a genuine reflection of who He truly is. He fondly remembers setting up photoshoots in his room and taking lots of pictures with his camera. A self confessed Geek as well, sharing his knowledge with codes which eventually led him to learn and create making websites...then learn Adobe Photoshop to make models look payat on his early days...All these, small series of learning and exploration in his early twenties..believe it or not greatly helped him to once again, revive his first love...as he picks up his camera..focuses on his Vision and make every photograph..an Artwork truly of his own. And yes, his family must be immensely proud of every single work He's done, especially his own Billboard at EDSA, he jokes, finally.
